  • The Culmination Point at the Equator Monument, Pontianak

Location : Equator Monument, Jalan Khatulistiwa.

Sun cumination is a natural phenomenon when the sun right on the equator, at the moment the position of the sun will be right above the head so as to eliminate all the shadow of objects on the surface of the earth, especially in the equator monument area.
The sun culmination even occurs twice a year, which is between 21-23 March and September. These natural events become the annual activities of the city of Pontianak to attract of tourist, both local and foreign.
So it becomes a special feature. Because of that. Pontianak city also known as the Equator city.

Peristiwa titik kulminasi matahari merupakan fenomena alam ketika matahari tepat berada digaris khatulistiwa, pada saat itu posisi matahari akan tepat berada di atas kepala sehingga menghilangkan semua bayangan benda-benda di permukaan bumi terutama di kawasan Tugu Khatulistiwa.
Peristiwa titik kulminasi matahari itu terjadi setahun dua kali, yaitu antara tanggal 21-23 Maret dan September. Peristiwa alam itu menjadi kegiatan tahunan Kota Pontianak guna menarik kedatangan wisatawan, baik lokal maupun mancanegara.
Sehingga itu menjadi ciri khusus. Karena itulah Kota Pontianak juga dikenal dengan sebutan Kota Khatulistiwa.

  • The Biggest Mosque in Pontianak


Location : Masjid Raja Mujahidin, Jalan Jendral Ahmad Yani.

Mujahidin Mosque is the biggest mosque in Pontianak. Mujahidin is a complex that consists of Elementary School, Junior High School, and Senior High School. Mujahidin Mosque was renovated on 2014. Every friday there are many people that come to Mujahidin Mosque to do friday’s prayer. Every Friday Mujahidin parking lot is always crowded.

Masjid Mujahidin adalah masjid terbesar di Pontianak. Mujahidin adalah sebuah komplek yang terdapat Sekolah Dasar, Sekolah Menengah Pertama dan Sekolah Menengah Atas. Masjid Mujahidin direnovasi pada tahun 2014. Setiap jum’at terdapat banyak orang yang datang ke Masjid Mujahidin untuk melakukan Shalat Jum’at. Setiap jum’at tempat parkir selalu ramai.

  •   The Equator Monument


Location : The Equator Monument, Jalan Khatulsitiwa, Pontianak.

The Equator Monument is the icon of  West Kalimantan. The Equator Monument is located in Jalan Khatulistiwa. This place often visited by people in Pontianak or tourist. At the right time, you can see the unique of natural phenomenon at the this time. When the sun has right position on the equator, the sun culmination will accur.

Tugu Khatulistiwa adalah ikon Kalimantan Barat. Tugu Khatulistiwa teletak di Jalan Khatulistiwa, Pontianak. Tempat ini sering dikunjungi orang Pontianak ataupun turis. Pada saat yang tepat kamu dapat melihat keunikan dari fenomena alam saat itu. Pada saat matahari berada di posisi kanan garis ekuator titik kulminasi akan muncul.


  •    Keraton Kadriyah, Pontianak.

Location : Keraton Kadriyah, Jalan Tanjung Raya I, Pontianak.

Keraton Kadriyah is the first building in Pontianak. The creator is also first Sultan of Pontianak, his name is Sultan Syarif Abdurahman Alkadrie. The building is built in 1771. Keraton Kadriyah is located on Jalan Tanjung Raya I and near of  Kapuas River because, water transportation quite populer in 1700’s.

Keraton Kadriyah adalah bangunan pertama di Pontianak. Pembuatnya juga seorang Sultan pertama di Pontianak, yang bernama Sultan Syarif Abdurahman Alkadrie. Bangunan ini dibangun pada tahun 1771. Keraton Kadriyah terletak di Jalan Tanjung Raya 1 dan berada di dekat Sungai Kapuas karena, alat transportasi lumayan terkenal pada tahun 1700an.
